The journey of LIFTA started when our founder, Mr. Prasad Dhume noticed his mother having difficulty while getting up from comfortable sofas at home. He soon noticed that many people had a similar problem.

With his decade-long experience in designing and manufacturing prosthetic legs in India, Prasad already had a good grasp on the bio-mechanical concepts pertaining to knee-joint movements. He designed an innovative assist mechanism to overcome this problem. He observed that currently none of the chairs had any such mechanism or means to fit it in. So, he ventured to design and build a complete product that helped people sit and stand comfortably, safely, and independently.
